Join Rebecca for a series of informal art workshops from the inspiring surroundings of her own large working studio in Uppingham. (Unit 11, Sidings Place, Station road, Uppingham. LE15 9TX)

Suitable for beginners and intermediate level artists. Materials and refreshments provided. So that Rebecca can give everyone individual tuition, she only accepts a maximum of 6 people.

Working from a life model, Rebecca will be teaching simple techniques that really help to simplify the vast complexity of the human form. From short warm-up to longer poses.

This life drawing class will show how a few simple lines and volumes can convey so much. Working with pen and ink and colour washes.

Drawing a head (portraiture)

Starting from the premise that the form and set of the head are the key building blocks of a good portrait. Working from a life model, Rebecca will encourage you to try different materials.

From still life to abstraction (colour and composition)

In this class Rebecca will show the exciting path from observation-based work towards a more simplified, abstract approach. A look also at colour and pictorial composition.

Preparing and using a painted ground for life drawing, as well as creating monochrome / tonal studies in paint.
